Eagle, ID Area Addiction Recovery Resources

Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Resources in the Eagle, Idaho Area

Drug and alcohol addiction recovery resources are readily available for those who live in the Eagle, Idaho area. So many people do not know where to turn for help, and they may be nervous about going to detox and/or rehab. There are other ways to recover, such as going to outpatient 12-Step support groups. Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous are both great options.

In addition, families can get the support they need through Al-Anon and Alateen. It is also a good idea to get information about detox and rehab just in case those are options people want to explore.

The most important thing anyone with a substance abuse problem can do is to get help. We would like to do our part to facilitate this by providing this helpful addiction recovery resource guide. Please note that we are not affiliated with any of the following organizations. They are presented for informational purposes only.

Addiction in Eagle, ID – Who Does it Affect?

Addiction can strike people of any race, class, age or status. It is the cause for problems with health, relationships, and even the law. And it can stem from any substance, legal, illegal, or prescription. Drug and alcohol resources in Eagle are more important than ever.

According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, drug overdose is the leading cause of accidental death in the United States. More than 47,000 people died of drug overdoses in 2014 alone. Death is certainly the most severe effect of drug addiction, but it is not nearly the only damaging one. It is important to get control of addiction before it does irreparable harm, and here are some drug and alcohol resources that can help with that.

Alcoholics Anonymous

When someone is struggling with a drinking problem, it helps to talk with others who understand what they are going through. That is the premise behind Alcoholics Anonymous. This organization was founded in 1939 by two men who were both alcoholics. They believed that people could help each other stop drinking, and it turns out they were right.

AA members meet together on a weekly basis for about an hour. The meetings may feature special speakers, or they may center on discussion about the 12 Steps of Recovery. Millions of people all over the world have been able to get sober because of the work of this organization.

For those who live in the Eagle community, AA meetings can offer them a great deal of support. There are several taking place throughout the week.

Narcotics Anonymous

Even though AA was doing some great work, there was a problem. For twenty years, there was nowhere for drug addicts to go for the same type of help. That is why Narcotics Anonymous was founded in 1955. They also offer 12-Step meetings that are held on a weekly basis.

Alcoholics Anonymous was doing great but there was other types of addiction that was needing attention

NA is a little bit different than AA in a few ways. For one, they allow anyone to attend, regardless of what type of addiction they have. In fact, many alcoholics actually prefer to attend NA meetings.

For many people, attending an NA meeting in the Eagle area was exactly what they needed to stop using. There are several meetings taking place all week long.

Al-Anon and Alateen

Nothing hurts as much as knowing that a loved one is suffering from an addiction. Families face this all the time, and many of them have nowhere to turn. They do not know how to help the individual, and they often end up feeling depressed or anxious. That is why Al-Anon is so important. They provide them with a weekly support group where they can talk with others facing similar circumstances.

Likewise, young people are often trapped because of a family member’s addiction. They may spend all of their time worrying, and this can be devastating to their mental states. Alateen, which is an extension of Al-Anon, offers help to teenagers and young adults. They hold weekly support group meetings, which gives young people the outlet they need.

Eagle area Al-Anon meetings can be so helpful for the families of addicted loved ones. There are several in this community, all within a 50-mile radius of the city.

Can Ashwood Recovery Help You Stop Using Drugs or Alcohol?

For many people, starting with getting professional treatment is the best option. This is because quitting is hard, and in some cases, it can even be dangerous. Fortunately, Ashwood Recovery offers the right programs to help those who need it.

We are located less than a 20-minute drive from Eagle, ID. Our intensive outpatient program is very flexible for those who work during the day, and we can also refer for other services.

Professional treatment is not the right solution for everyone. But it is possible that it could be for you. We would like to invite you to get in touch with us for a free addiction assessment. We can help you understand exactly what type of treatment you need.

Our Closest Inpatient Location:

Alcohol and drug treatment programs are usually made up of both detox and rehab. These are two separate forms of addiction recovery, but they both play important roles in the overall process.

Without starting with professional addiction treatment, many people will get caught up in a cycle of addiction. They will attempt to stop using and then suffer through a relapse. When this happens, they put themselves at a high risk for an overdose. That is why in most cases, it is best to start by getting help through drug detox and rehab.

Detox is the process of eliminating toxins from the body that are related to substance abuse. It takes some time, but with the right forms of treatment, it can help with withdrawal symptoms immensely. In addition to that, it can also help people avoid potential complications that can occur when stopping the use of some substances.

There are several drugs that require detoxification, and they include:

This form of treatment may be recommended for other types of addictions as well, based on the patient’s needs. In general, a combination of medical and holistic detox methods are used, and this helps to improve the person’s chances of recovering.

Drug and alcohol rehab is the second step in the recovery process. The goal is to provide the patient with counseling to help them identify and heal from the cause of the addiction. They will meet with a therapist regularly, and may also participate in support groups, along with other forms of treatment.

In many cases, addictions are caused by co-occurring disorders, or mental health issues. These must be identified, diagnosed and treated alongside the addiction. If they are not, there is a very high chance that the person will simply go back to using.
