Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment and Recovery Resources in the Walla Walla, WA Area

The Walla Walla, Washington area has several options for those searching for drug and alcohol rehab or other types of recovery help.

Not only can people attend rehab online, but there are also virtual 12-Step meetings that many might find beneficial. It can be hard to reach out for help with a substance abuse problem. But this is a close-knit community with lots of support.

12-Step programs are some of the best recovery resources that people have available to them. Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous have proven to be very effective. In fact, these two organizations have been responsible for assisting millions of people worldwide in reaching their recovery goals. SMART Recovery is an additional resource that is not based on a 12-Step program, but that has proven to work well.

Families typically struggle the most when a loved one is addicted to drugs or alcohol. They may not know where to turn for help. Al-Anon and Alateen are both there to provide support to hurting families and young people. They offer weekly meetings that are free of charge to attend.

Though we are not affiliated with these programs, we do believe in them. In addition to detox and rehab, they are important addiction recovery resources that more people need to be made aware of.

Information on Walla Walla Detox

Oftentimes, detoxing is the most uncomfortable step in the recovery process. When an addict stops using their drug of choice, they experience all kinds of unpleasant symptoms. Professional detox helps to alleviate some of these symptoms, making it easier to get the drugs out of your body.

When you try to detox alone, you run the risk of relapsing. But, by checking into a professional program, you’ll remove yourself from the temptation to use and force yourself to finish the process.

If you want to get clean, it benefits you to consider detox. A professional facility can help you to withdraw in the safest, most comfortable manner.

Rehabilitation is also very important for addicts. This is the process where they get used to living life life as a sober person.

Some people are able to rehabilitate on their own. But, many people benefit from attending a professional drug rehab program

In rehab, addicts work with therapists and counselors to develop methods for staying sober. They learn how to identify and cope with triggering situations. They also work on stress-management techniques. Ultimately, these tools help them to avoid relapsing in the future.

Furthermore, addicts also meet with other patients for group support sessions. These sessions show the addict that there are other people who’ve had similar experiences. And, it shows them that recovery is possible.

The transition from addiction to sobriety is never easy. But, a professional rehab program can help to make it a lot easier.

If you have an insurance plan, it will probably cover the cost of rehab. Click here to find out if your provider pays for drug treatment.

Many addiction treatment programs offer free phone assessments that can help people choose the one that is right for them.

It may come as a surprise, but it is also possible to attend a rehabilitation program online. There truly is no substitute for physically going to rehab. But not everyone is able to do that. Today, there is no reason to be concerned because our technology allows for virtual rehab and treatment.

About the Outpatient Rehab Program at Ashwood Recovery in Idaho

At Ashwood Recovery, our outpatient treatment program is known to be among the best in the region. We recognize how personal an issue that addiction is, and we aim to provide personalized services and treatment plans to our clients.

We have two locations. Our clients can come to our office in Boise, or in Nampa. We also offer varying levels of treatment, based on what our clients need. Most will find that they need a higher level of care, which is found in intensive outpatient treatment and partial hospitalization. But there are some who will do very well in a more traditional outpatient setting.

Our Washington State outpatient rehab center is called Northpoint the Evergreen. We have two locations there; one in Seattle and one in Bellevue. They also offer three levels of care (outpatient, IOP and PHP), as well as many of the same services that we have.

While some people may prefer an outpatient program, many need to start by going through inpatient rehab first. This may be for any number of reasons, such as needing detox services, or being unable to return home. Regardless, we do have an inpatient facility in Washington State that can help.

Northpoint Recovery is located in Edmonds, and they offer treatment for alcoholism and drug addiction. They have the ability to provide detox and rehab at the same location.

At Ashwood Recovery, we are proud to offer the ability to attend rehab online. We use telehealth to facilitate therapy sessions between our therapists and their clients. There is also the possibility for group sessions, family sessions and more.

Online rehab opens up so many possibilities for those who may have thought they could not access treatment. The support and encouragement we offer help people stay on the right track and work toward a successful recovery.

AA meetings are free and open to all. They happen every single day in cities and towns all over America. They also happen in other international countries, as well. Most meetings are conducted in churches, town halls, schools, restaurants, and other public places.

In a typical AA meeting, attendees take turns talking about their lives. They discuss how alcohol took over their lives, how their life changed, and why they decided to get sober. They also offer updates on the progress of their recovery.

Meetings are very encouraging for newly sober people It helps for them to meet and connect with folks who’ve been clean for many years. It shows them that recovery is possible. But, they’re also beneficial for people who’ve managed to stay sober, as it offers them a way to “give back” to the sobriety community. Many members continue to attend meetings for years after they’ve cleaned up.

The entire AA program is based around The Twelve Steps. This is a system designed to help people overcome negative habits. Throughout the Steps, members learn how to forgive themselves for their mistakes and move forward in a more productive manner.

If you can’t stop drinking, AA could be the right program for you. The Walla Walla Alcoholics Anonymous community is eager to help you get sober.

SMART Recovery

AA and NA are valuable for many people. However, they certainly don’t work for everyone. All addicts are different. So, each person must find the approach that works best for them.

Information on Walla Walla Smart Recovery

Fortunately, there are all kinds of alternatives. SMART Recovery is one of these alternatives. This program offers a similar type of support to Twelve Step groups. But, it operates a bit differently.

Instead of using a 12-step system, SMART uses a 4-point system. Addicts work through these points in order to take practical steps toward a drug-free life.

SMART’s 4-Point system includes the following steps:

  • Point #1: Learn how to be motivated
  • Point #2: Learn how How to cope with triggers and cravings
  • Point #3: Learn how to manage stressful situations
  • Point #4: Learn how to live a well-balanced life.

Many people prefer SMART Recovery over AA or NA because it avoids spiritual discussion. After all, a “higher power” is a frequent topic of discussion in Anonymous groups. And, the Third Step specifically asks people to pray to their higher power. So, a lot of non-religious folks are hesitant to join.

If you are skeptical of AA or NA, this could be a good resource. It’s open to everyone, no matter what type of drugs they do.

Will Health Insurance Cover the Cost of Detox and Rehab?

When the Affordable Care Act was signed into law in 2010, it required all health insurance companies to offer benefits for addiction treatment. But many people in the United States do not realize that their insurance policies have this type of coverage. Because they think treatment is not affordable, they opt to continue to try to quit on their own instead.

At Ashwood Recovery, we know the importance of making treatment affordable. That is why we have partnered with several of the most popular insurance companies in our area. We are in-network with Blue Cross of Idaho, Multiplan Insurance, USA MCO Insurance, and many others.

The coverage that may be available will vary, depending on the policy. Some people find that their health insurance covers treatment in full. Others will find that they need to pay a small copay.

Some people do not have health insurance, which can make it difficult for them to afford to go to rehab. HealthCare.gov can be a great resource to find a policy that will help to cover the costs, at least in part.

If getting health insurance is out of the question for financial reasons, there may be other ways to pay for rehab. SAMHSA is a great place to start. They offer grants that can defer the costs of rehab, and that money will cover both detox (if needed) and rehab in full.

Some creative thinking may be needed in order to pay for a private rehab facility without health insurance. Some of the suggestions we have to offer include:

  • Talking with the treatment program about the possibility of in-house financing or a payment plan.
  • Using one’s savings account or taking out a personal loan to cover the costs.
  • Asking a close relative to borrow the money.
  • Talking with someone at the local Department of Social Services about getting financial help, if it is available.
  • Using a credit card to pay for treatment.

At Ashwood Recovery, we do not want finances to stand in anyone’s way of getting the help they need. We want people to know that we are here to help. We are in-network with some of the top insurance companies in Washington. We also participate with Cobra plans in the event that a client has lost their job, gotten furloughed or laid off.
