Ongoing support is a necessary component of the recovery process from drug addiction or alcoholism. Recovery meetings and support groups are the premier way to get this support whenever you need it. While help from family and friends is beneficial, it cannot take the place of the type of support found in these structured gatherings.
Rather than try and stay away from drinking on your own, it can be very helpful to attend an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting. Populated solely of alcoholics, AA meetings are a prime resource for those who need advice and inner release.
