Once an addiction has formed, it’s hard to bring your life back into balance. You may spent months or years being under the control of a substance. When you’re ready to get the help you need, your best chance of success is reaching out to others. Getting professional help will increase your success rate.
You will usually start with detox, then onto rehab. From there, you may go home or attend a transition program. Your journey through recovery will involve gaining knowledge and tools so you become stronger than your addiction. The methods that professional addiction specialists use have been proven for treating addictions.
There are a few options for rehab. The recommended program if you’ve never attended addiction treatment before is inpatient rehab. You stay in a residential setting an immerse in treatments. They usually last for 28 days and offer a tailored plan for your specific needs.
There are also outpatient programs in Paul, ID that allow you to stay at home while going through rehab. These programs are usually the most cost-effective and are often run by local organizations. The downside is they are so flexible that there’s a risk of relapse.
The middle road is the Intensive Outpatient Program. This offers the same high quality treatments as an inpatient program but you can stay at home. You attend a facility three to five times per week for intensive treatments. The program costs less than inpatient as you’re not paying for food and accommodation.
When you’ve completed rehab, you may want to attend a partial hospitalization program (PHP). You stay in residential housing with others who are recovering from addiction. There are treatments you can attend based on your needs. This is a good program for those not ready to go home. They can last anywhere from 90 to 180 days.
The first step is getting over the physical dependency of a substance, also known as detox. This involves abstaining from the substance, which often causes withdrawal symptoms. It’s important to have support through this process for your safety and comfort. Detox usually takes 5 to 7 days.

Inpatient rehab is an excellent option but it’s not right for everyone. If you need to stay at home or have some concerns about the cost, there are other programs available. The outpatient programs in Paul are free of charge or low-cost. If you need more support, there is an Intensive Outpatient Program. Regardless of what program you decide on, make sure you verify your insurance to see what is covered. You may have access to some high quality programs through your insurance company.
