We utilize the most accurate in assessment and screening tools. This enables us to get a more accurate picture of what is needed to help any given individual. MORE ABOUT TREATMENT
With all the buzz around addiction treatment these days, its hard for families to sort through and identify what is needed. Treatment is divided into a few key categories, many of which are implemented in stages. Here is a general overview of these levels of care.
- Detoxification the first stage, is not necessary for everyone, this is detoxification or "detox". Detox is the bodies process of releasing the drugs. Due to the physical dependency of some substances such as Heroin, Alcohol and Prescription Pills, people using these substances typically need a medical detox. This involves medication and medical supervision for 3 days and up.
- Primary Care is the foundation of treatment for many. This stage of treatment involves intensive education, group work and counseling. In order to find recovery, many cannot do it without this stage of care. This level of care can be provided for some on an outpatient basis and others on an inpatient basis. Primary Care typically ranges from 28 days to 3 months.
- Extended Care is the phase of treatment following primary care. Extended care is intended to help individuals increase their coping skills and interpersonal awareness. This level of care ranges from 60 days to 6 months and up.
- Continuing Care or Aftercare is typically provided on an outpatient basis and aims to keep individuals connected with professional counselors and integrated them into their daily lives. This stage of treatment can range in frequency and duration depending on the clients needs.
Ashwood Recovery does not provide detoxification but can refer clients to an appropriate program or practitioner.We do provide the rest of the stages of treatment and incorporate them in a tapered fashion. This is done to create successful outcomes and empower our clients and their families.
